Chelsea transfer news – Malo Gusto Recently, The Daily Mail reported that Chelsea are ready to submit an improved offer in the region of £30 million to try and land Gusto from Lyon. In order successfully negotiate a transfer, the Ligue 1 giants have insisted that the 19-year-old be loaned back to them from the Blues for the remainder of this term. CHELSEAChelsea set to welcome new player after Madueke

Image
Chelsea are said to be closing in on the signing of Lyon right-back Malo Gusto this January. This comes as the Blues co-owner Todd Boehly is ready to splash yet more cash in his second transfer window since taking over the club. A report via Foot Mercato revealed Gusto is set to move to London barring as it looks like the Blues have beaten off interest from Manchester United and Newcastle United. Further reports claimed the 19-year-old star has been offered a six-and-a-half-year deal and massive pay which could see him force an exit away from Lyon despite their willingness to keep him until the end of the current season. It looks like Chelsea have made headway ahead of the January deadline despite Manchester United and Newcastle both being credited with an interest in Gusto. They would be welcoming Gusto after signing Noni Madueke over the weekend. Gusto is currently worth around £13million, but the competition for his signature could see Lyon receive a larger fee.

NEWSCristiano Ronaldo demanded a transfer to Chelsea after his United exit

Image
Cristiano Ronaldo had reportedly demanded a transfer to Chelsea or Bayern Munich after his exit from Manchester United earlier this month. The Portuguese superstar terminated his contract at Old Trafford following an explosive interview with the British journalist Piers Morgan which had Ronaldo lambasting his then-United boss Eric ten Hag and the club’s owners. According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that Ronaldo, before making the switch to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, was keen on joining Chelsea or Bayern Munich and had conveyed the same to his agent Jorge Mendes. Chelsea had been considered as one of the contenders for Ronaldo’s signature last summer with Mendes in contact with the Blues co-owner Todd Beohly who had been interested in moving in for the 37-year-old forward. Thomas Tuchel, then in charge of the west London giants, was said to be against the idea of making an offer to sign Ronaldo with the German coach looking elsewhere for alternatives to bolste...

Chelsea could appoint Argentine specialist as their next head-coach in the summer

Image
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino would reportedly be prepared to take over as Chelsea boss if Graham Potter was sacked. Potter replaced Thomas Tuchel in the Chelsea dugout in September, and he enjoyed a positive start to his career in West London. The former Brighton & Hove Albion boss began his tenure with a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions, which included six victories. However, the Blues have since experienced a poor run of results, winning just two of their previous nine competitive matches. Following consecutive defeats to Manchester City, including a disappointing 4-0 loss in the third-round of the FA Cup on Sunday, Potter’s position as Chelsea boss has come under scrutiny. According to The Sun, Pochettino would be willing to replace Potter if Chelsea decided it was time for a change of manager. The report claims that the Argentine still has a home in the English capital despite leaving Tottenham over three years ago,...

Enzo Fernandez and Malo Gusto double transfer set to ensure record-breaking Chelsea window

Image
Lyon do not want to sell the France Under-21 international, but Chelsea have shown ever since Todd Boehly bought the club last year that they will pay big money to land their targets. Gusto is a long-term target of Chelsea's and one they have confidence they can sign before the transfer deadline next week. If they do arrive at Stamford Bridge in the coming days, then they will be Chelsea's seventh and eighth signing of the January transfer window. David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos, Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke have all arrived at the club already this month. This amount of players in a mid-season window seems unprecedented but interestingly enough, Chelsea did sign six players – the exact amount they're on right now – during the 2011/12 campaign. Kevin De Bruyne, Gary Cahill, Patrick Bamford and Lucas Piazon were among those signed back in January 2012. Apart from that, January windows under Roman Abramovich tended to be rather quiet. In ...

UEFA to close loophole in wake of Chelsea's record £460m and set to ban Chelsea not to sign in summer transfer window

Image
UEFA are set to close the loophole which has enabled Chelsea to spread the cost of their record transfer spending over up to eight years after receiving complaints from other Premier League clubs.  Sportsmail revealed last Saturday that a number of Chelsea's top-flight rivals had accused the club of attempting to cheat FFP regulations by using amortisation to spread the cost of Mykhailo Mudryk's £88million fee over eight years for accounting purposes. FIFA statutes already set five years as the maximum contract length, but exceptions are permitted, which Chelsea have utilised to defer much of the cost of the record £460million transfer spending since Todd Boehly bought the club last July.  Recent £88m signing Mykhaylo Mudryk signed the Premier League's longest contract ever +4 View gallery Recent £88m signing Mykhaylo Mudryk signed the Premier League's longest contract ever In addition to Mudryk, who signed the longest contract in the history of the Premier League, Fre...

Bayern Munich might make a late move for Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz in the winter transfer window Chelsea Newsnow:  Bayern Munich might reportedly target Chelsea in the January transfer window in an attempt to lure Kai Havertz back to Germany, as reported by journalist  Sacha Tavolieri . Since Chelsea has been using a lot of players in the attack as of late, the kid may be in danger of being benched. In the January transfer window, the Blues acquired Joao Felix, Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke. Havertz’s playing time may be limited as a result of the new signings being given the green light right away in light of Chelsea’s previous lacklustre performances. The 23-year-old forward’s contributions have included five goals and one assist in the Premier League. Amid Bayern Munich’s interest, Chelsea may let Havertz go this month if they get a satisfactory offer.
