Silva joined Chelsea as a free agent in the summer of 2020 following his eight-year stint at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 38-year-old has played a crucial role in defence for Chelsea ever since he moved to Stamford Bridge.

As a result of his immense performances, the Times are reporting Chelsea are looking to give him an extension.

His current deal expires in the summer and a new one would likely see him remain in west London past his 39th birthday.

Silva has impressed Graham Potter as well as those high up at the club, and both he and his family have enjoyed life in London.

The Brazilian centre-back, who was won three trophies at Chelsea, also wants to play until he is 40-years-old.
